Windpaddel
The core of this object might be called a three-dimensional angle crank gear. Take a look at a shadow of a rotating shaft that is bent at its end. It performs a back and forth movement. If then on the angled portion of the shaft a bearing is pushed and on it the two wings are fixed, this works similarly in the room. With wind the paddle perform a pendulum motion. The wing which is perpendicular to the wind, will he pushed 'back'. At the reversal point both wings rotates by 90 degrees. Said surface cuts the wind on its way back. The other wing at the same time makes the opposite movement. © All images, texts and the idea of the artists work are subject to the German copyright law and if pro rata the relevant collecting society and if pro rata the photographer.
